The church exists to glorify god, to take the good news of Jesus Christ to others and to grow together in faith and love towards fulfilment in Jesus Christ.
This banner should have been completed first but "the mountains" text came first and followed naturally. The first banner told of Christ's coming this one proclaimed his arrival. The herald's trumpets proclaimed that he had come to rule this world and the world to come and that he would be crowned "King if Kings".
Each Sunday I would look at this banner and recite to myself, "What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him, you made him a little lower than the angels"
One Sunday when saying this, a member of the family said, "There's a man in the middle of the two heralds". All this time I had been saying the text I had missed what they had seen! Sure enough in the blue material between the heralds there was a shape of a man.
The banners were dully dedicated and the minister was pleased. I was happy but was not aware then that two years later I would be asking if he would like another banner for Easter!
