The church exists to glorify god, to take the good news of Jesus Christ to others and to grow together in faith and love towards fulfilment in Jesus Christ.

The Native Banner

The suggestion for a Christmas banner to be done was welcomed and again my mind juggled with odeas and finally settled on the story in Luke Chapter 2. I decided that the banner would portray the shepherds bringing the news of the birth.

The heading was to read "unto us a child is born he shall be called Immanuel (God is with us). Embroidered on the boarder at the bottom of the banner were the words "and every knee shall bow". In fact you have to half-bow to read these words.

Finding the illustrations to portray my ideas proved more difficult then I imagined, I just couldn't find what I wanted.

Once again, while on holiday I went into a Christian bookshop and saw some Christmas cards on a display stand and there it was exactly what I was looking for! The scenes had to enlarged to the correct size so now I could make a start.
