The church exists to glorify god, to take the good news of Jesus Christ to others and to grow together in faith and love towards fulfilment in Jesus Christ.
The Mountains
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet that bring good tidings of joy that publish salvation that Saith unto Zion, OUR GOD REIGNS
After the mountains were drawn it seemed natural that a river or waterfall be included and the outline of the feet telling of Christ's coming. The two trees were reminders of the tree of knowledge mans temptation and the tree of life God's promise.
After the first banner was finished a photograph was taken and when it was developed I was amazed to find that a bright light appeared to be shining above the mountains.
The mountains banner generates so many thoughts and ideas from the bible. Thoughts of the old testament, when Moses can down the mountains with the commandments, or the sermon on the Mount, when Jesus fed the 5000 people who came to hear him or when He went into the mountains to pray.
With the flash of light on the development photograph one can also be made to think of the transfiguration and message this conveys.
